India Story is the brainchild of 17-year old Avantika Khanna, a grade 12 student of the Shri Ram School, Aravalli, with a passion for Indian culture, our heritage and a strong send of responsibility for preservation of the same.

Her venture, India Story is a completely student-run app that through storytelling via carefully curated audio tours of Indian monuments, helps rediscover India’s rich heritage - one story at a time.

It is a one-of-a-kind app that handholds the user through a journey of India’s diverse and alluring past, using interactive audio guides to ensure that all those that travel in India experience its authentic magic.

Ms Avantika shares, “As an Indian, I have grown up hearing stories from epics, mythology and folk tales. Storytelling is so integral and deep-rooted in our culture, not only as an instrument to know about the past but also as a framework to shape our values and ideas. India Story is all about the ancient art of storytelling to bring to life the past through new-age interactive audio guides using a tech platform. India Story seeks to rekindle pride in the hearts of Indians about our country’s past as well as highlight the necessity of preserving its archeological symbols.” By using technology to preserve India’s cultural heritage, it provides an amalgamation of the modern and the ancient.

India Story is entirely run by a team of 19 students across 6 cities - photographers, app developers, content writers and city managers.

The passionate team adds the perspective of youth to make the content relevant for all age groups but in a refreshingly youthful manner.

India Story is one of the only operating apps in India providing 100% accurate audio guides on places of interest in multiple locations across the country. It uses GPS smart technology and other features to enhance the customer experience.

About India Story:

India Story conceptualised in 2015 and launched in the year 2019, is a one of a kind app that draws on the  ancient art of storytelling to highlight the past of a country as diverse as India. It handholds tourists through their journey of exploration of a city, using interactive audio guides to ensure that all those that travel in India feel the touch of its magic. Avantika Khanna, Founder of India Story

Avantika Khanna is a 17-year-old high school student with an unbridled passion for history, culture and heritage. Following her passion, she has travelled extensively to numerous places in the pursuit of learning more about these countries. While discovering Edinburgh during her summer break a few years ago, she cherished the way the monuments were well-maintained and how accessible and curated the information was for all tourists. Avantika realised that a large number of people in India were not attentive to the authentic history of monuments and are only attached to its façade.

She, therefore, decided that for her final project at the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, she would create an MVP for an app that can instil respect and admiration for Indian heritage, not only among foreigners but also among natives as they rediscover India, one story at a time. Her desire and awareness led her to develop an entrepreneurial endeavour which has now culminated into India Story.

Avantika is currently studying in the 12th grade at The Shri Ram School Aravali. Inspired over the years by the school’s core value ‘pride in one’s heritage’, she attributes a significant part of her decision to develop a heritage app to her alma mater.
